Enjoy a sightseeing tour that reveals both imperial and contemporary Vienna with your local expert guide. We’ll stop for photographs at Emperor Franz Josef’s Hofburg Palace and see the Cathedral of St. Stephen and the State Opera.

| Day 5 Vienna - Melk - Salzburg: |

We travel along the Blue Danube river this morning for a stop at Duernstein to view Richard the Lionheart’s castle. Through the Wachau Gorge and surrounded by quaint villages and vineyards we arrive at the famous monastery of Melk for an included visit of this imposing structure. Continue west to Salzburg, our home for the next 3 relaxing nights where our guided sightseeing tour includes "Sound of Music" locations and sees the birthplace of Mozart. This morning, enjoy a special Explore and Discover lecture about the “Velvet Revolution”. Learn about the many turbulent uprisings against foreign powers and the social changes in the former Czechoslovakia from our local expert. Sightseeing of Prague with your local guide then features visits to the 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle, former residence of Bohemian kings, the Cathedral of St. Vitus and the Old Town Square with its Astronomical Clock. Admire the many spires and bridges from the Castle Hill. At leisure, seek out the locations used in the movies of "Amadeus", "Mission Impossible", the "Bourne Identity" and many more, shop for crystal or join an optional tour to nearby Dresden, the Florence on the Elbe River. | Day 11 Prague - Bratislava - Budapest: |

A scenic drive south today through the vineyards of Moravia to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. We see the medieval old town before continuing across the Hungarian border to Budapest, our home for the next 3 leisurely nights. Buffet Breakfast and Dinner Included |

The main sights of the twin cities of Buda and Pest included in our sightseeing tour with your local Hungarian expert are views of the Gellert Hill, the Royal Palace and a visit to the 13th-century Church of Matthias. The rest of your
