Trip Itinerary
DAY 1 USA - Madrid Madrid, Spain
VIP Door-to-Door Transfer to your local airport for your overnight flight to Madrid.
DAY 2 Arrive Madrid Madrid, Spain
Arrive in Spain’s capital, Madrid, for a relaxing two-night stay. This evening meet your new traveling companions at a Welcome Drink hosted by your Tour Director. Later, why not try some authentic tapas in the local bars?
DAY 3 Madrid Madrid, Spain
Your morning is at leisure. Perhaps visit the Royal Apartments in the palace where King Juan Carlos' ancestors lived for over 200 years. Our afternoon sightseeing tour takes us to view the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol and Plaza Espana and the monument to Cervantes. A special visit takes us to the palatial Prado Museum, home to one of the world's greatest collections of priceless works of art.

DAY 4 Madrid - Cordoba - Seville Cordoba, Spain
Today we head south through the arid landscape of Don Quixote’s La Mancha, past her characteristic white windmills and the Sierra Morena Mountains to Cordoba. The architectural monuments of this beautiful city were built by the Romans, the Moors and early Christians. We visit the 8th-century Mosque of the Caliphs, famous for its 850 pillars of porphyry, marble and jasper. On leaving Cordoba, we continue along the fertile valley of the river Guadalquivir to Seville, our home for the next two nights. The evening is at leisure, but it is hard to resist a night filled with the sights and sound of guitars, castanets, whirling skirts and of course the famous flamenco!

DAY 5 Seville Seville, Spain
Our morning sightseeing tour with our local specialist transports us through time as we observe 700 years of Moorish influence. We view the pools and fountains of Maria Luisa Park, the old district of Santa Cruz, and visit the tomb of Christopher Columbus, housed in Spain’s largest Gothic cathedral. The afternoon is free to soak up the atmosphere of this Spanish jewel.

DAY 6 Seville - Gibraltar - Costa del Sol Costa del Sol, Spain
Our drive today takes us through the vineyards of Jerez, home of sherry. Then we are off to the British city of Gibraltar, “the key to the Mediterranean” where we have an included tour of the famed Rock, visit St. Michael’s Cave and see the Barbary Apes. Then back in Spain, we continue to the Costa del Sol. For dinner this evening, enjoy the freedom of your Dine-Around program,and choose from a selection of restaurants recommended by your Tour Director.

DAY 7 Costa del Sol Costa del Sol, Spain
Today, we visit a working rural olive mill for an inside look at the plantations. We taste the various oils and join the locals at the village square for a home hosted lunch as part of our Explore & Discover™ series.

DAY 8 Costa del Sol - Granada Granada, Spain
A short drive this morning takes us to the old Moorish capital of Granada, located at the foot of the spectacular Sierra Nevada. This afternoon we enjoy a highlight of any tour to Spain, a visit to the famed Alhambra: to pass through its gates is to enter an Arabian Night’s dream! A fantasy of “lace in stone,” surrounded by arabesque gardens and fountains, the Alhambra offers incredible views of the Old Quarter and Sacromonte, a mountain occupied by Gypsy cave dwellers. We also enjoy a walk through the Water Gardens of the Generalife.

DAY 9 Granada -Toledo - Madrid Toledo, Spain
This morning we depart sunny Andalusia and head north, through the olive groves, to the ancient Castilian capital of Toledo. Situated on a granite hill with its towering Alcazar and splendid cathedral surrounded by Gothic and Moorish walls, Toledo attracts more visitors than any other town in Spain. Our sightseeing views the 13th-century Gothic Cathedral and visits the synagogue and Santo Tome, home to one of El Greco’s most famous paintings. After time free for shopping for the famous damascened Toledo steel, we continue to Madrid. This evening, we enjoy a festive Highlight Farewell Dinner as we bid hasta la vista to Spain.

DAY 10 Madrid - USA Madrid, Spain
This morning we are transferred to the airport for return flights to the USA.
